Second year in the new systems for all but a few FAs and the rookies...
Well, personally, I think its pitiful that not one single media outlet has mentioned this.
I kind of contribute this to the fact that the pundits have to pick someone to suck...obviously, we can't all have winning seasons.
I know you've all heard me barking this before, but here I go again:
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE OLINE!!!
Second year with the new, "zone blocking..."
I think they've got the talent there, if they're more comfortable and cut down the pre snap penalties, I think we can sneak into the playoffs and maybe pull an upset or two.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

With a year under our belts, there's going to be alot less thinking, and way more execution. Knowing your assignment will help that O-line fire as a UNIT. So with that we will have less drive-killing pre-snap penalties.

Re: Second year in the new systems for all but a few FAs and the rookies...
I understand where your coming from, but the media
doesn't recognize this because in terms of systems ours is relatiely new. I could name multiple teams who have been in their systems for a long time. They are not just familiar with their system, they know it like the back of their hands.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though the players are more familiar with the system, it is still an uphill battle. They were just as familiar with it when we lost to St. Louis as they are now. Hopefully another TC will help."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

It may be a new system for the Vikings, but it certainly isn't a new system to football. Hopefully this year the coaching staff has the ability to find what plays the talent is suited to execute and they forget about the ones they aren't good at executing. If they do that they can improve on last year.

It is the 2nd year in a system that did not work so well last year and it is all about the oline; which had its struggles as well.
This will be the telling year for Childress and Co.
Bad year = the boot.

Only time will tell.
Biggest issue that might make the owner change his mind on the grand scheme of things is if with the whole stadium issue.
Hopefully we will see some good stuff this year and all this will be a moot point.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

As always with this time of year; I'm optimistic about the Vikings chances. However, unlike last year I like what Childress is saying and how he is trusting the players and the coaching staff to do their jobs without him personally making sure they follow his instructions.
