Sauerbrun to be a Viking?
My buddy in Denver told me this morning on the news it announced that Broncos punter Todd Sauerbrun was just picked up by the Vikings (after being released).
I have not been able to confirm this anywhere...has anyone else?
Also - if this is true, peoples thoughts?
I know he's a 3-time pro bowler, but I like Kluwe's accuracy - how does Sauerbrun compare?
Btw, long time listener - seldom a poster.
HI.

Just did a bunch of search's, nothing yet, is your dad a joker with you?
Like to pull your leg at times for a laugh?....

Re: Sauerbrun to be a Viking?
I will roll around on the floor if the Vikes pick up the only punter in the NFL ever to be caught on the juice... not the brightest bulb in the package.. but I guess really want IQ is needed to punt the ball eh...

Re: Sauerbrun to be a Viking?
Kluwe is our punter. He is one of the best punters in the NFC, and we just signed him to a 6 year contract extension. Even if this is true (and I doubt it), he would only be brought in as a camp leg.

Re: Sauerbrun to be a Viking?
He's a good friend, not my dad....hehe.
Yeah, I had to call him back to make sure he wasn't pulling my leg.
He told me he picked it up watching OTA coverage in Denver this morning.
They showed the follow-up to Sauerbrun's legal issues and said the Vikings picked him up.
Strange I don't see anything in any web searches, though.

http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1621Q. Would the Vikings sign punter Todd Sauerbrun? He could be great in a dome. - John Lauritsen
A. Nope. Brad Childress doesn’t need a headache like Sauerbrun and the Vikings signed Chris Kluwe to a contract extension last season.

Re: Sauerbrun to be a Viking?
If they did, like aaeyers said, it will be as a camp leg.
Lets not forget that this is standard practice especially when your prime punter has had leg issues in the past.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Unless they would be able to sign him for next to nothing, I don't see them signing him even for a camp leg. Just about any punters leg would do & they could find that for a lot less ching. If they did, like aaeyers said, it will be as a camp leg.
