Re: Sapp: "I apologize to my fans"

I dont think you guys would be thinking it was a cool move had it lead to 7 and we lost

I like his intensity but go hit someone during a play not take 3 stupid swings after a play

Never said it was a cool move.
Said that I appreciated the passion.

But, to be honest here, it wasn't the 'three swings' that got the penalty, as the Bear WR was swinging back.
It was the final shot to the helmet about 5 seconds of nothing that got the flag.
Vegans are eating the rainforests. =(

Re: Sapp: "I apologize to my fans"

I like the passion too.. But theres a time for that and a way to go about it.. It was so damn stupid and he is damn lucky we bailed him out

The Bears player didn't swing from what I saw but I could be wrong.. All I saw was him take 3 shots and the Bears player throw his hands up like he didn't do anything (which I know is never the case)

Never the less you gotta keep your cool.. I know Sapp has some anger issues but learn to vent during a play by blowing someone up or something

Re: Sapp: "I apologize to my fans"

I like Sapp and he definitely got off of the hook on this one. This really was stupid and there was NO excuse for it ... anyone who says otherwise really makes no sense to me.
If you act like you were not pissed after that play then you simply are just ACTING. We all had a right to want his head on a stake. He bounced back, which shows that he has a little bit of what it takes to be solid in this league. And it all turned out for the best.
Hopefully he learned from it and it does not happen again.

I think its cool Sapp apologized. I am hoping he made this mistake now, and not at a later more crucial time. I hope he learned to keep his cool, when it matters. LOL, there was no happier Viking than Sapp after his pick, I bet he felt ohhhhhh so relieved. I was impressed the coaches talked to him after that as long as they did. Thats a great job by them.

Re: Sapp: "I apologize to my fans"

    A few thoughts on this....

    a. Props to Sapp for apologizing.
This guy continues to impress me "Of late".
I for one really thought he was being brought in as nothing more than training camp fodder.......(Consider this my order of crow).

    b. Props to Leslie for using him the way he has since Gordon went down.
5 years experience definately gives him the edge over the likes of McCauley.

    c. Love the passion, however, you can't let it get used against you.
I for one hated what he did and how he did it and what it could have cost the team in a very important game.
    (Key note:
JA shouldn't have used the ball as a prop either.....)

    d. Anyone see the Chiller go over and talk to him?
Wonder how many yutz's took that as an ass chewing?

    No harm, no fowl.
Great learning experience that I am sure will be discussed at length in every team meeting this week as they prep for the Lions......

    Go get em Benny.
    ;D

Re: Sapp: "I apologize to my fans"

He made up for it with an INT... so who cares?

I'm happy to see him get involved. Our CBs seem to finally be gelling.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Not trying to single you on on this, or negate Sapps catch, however, who really should get the props for the INT?

The guy who was in the right place at the right time or the guy who played damn good defense and tipped the ball, thereby making it a gift.....?
