I have read a few Viking fans' comments about Sharper and gathered the following three points:

the Vikings decided to go younger at safety

Sharper is getting long in the tooth, is not as fast and not playing at his former level

The reason his production was down last year was because he was moved to SS from FS

    Which is it?
I'd say more the first and second statement, he's a good player that can still offer a lot in terms of experience and advice even if he's not as young as he used to be. He's a good pick-up for the Saints to tide them over pending getting a younger player in who can be groomed to be there for a good few years
Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

We didn't know how to use him. He is a great player and be lucky to have him.

    I agree with you.

    Right, logic.

Not resigning a 34 year old player who's clearly lost a step, whose position is responsible for the greatest portion of the field, is not great in run support, and blew a handful of big plays this season while there's a 23 year old, tremendously athletic 2nd round pick in waiting is pretty illogical.

    Re: A Saints Fan's Question

You guys are being too harsh on Sharp.
He hasn't lost that much speed, as he ran his ass off in the 40 before the season kicked off.
I just don't think his talents and weaknesses are best fit to a cover-2 scheme.

He's certainly not as good as he once was, but I think that in the right system he could give another year or two of decent/quality play.
Minnesota just isn't the right place for him, and the move is best for both parties.

Kevon needs a crate of winged maxi-pads.

    That is all.
