    Re:Sage Rosenfels traded to Giants

Not happy about this at all. Sage is clearly a good backup and at this point I have given up on Jackson.

What if Favre gets hurt and misses a game or two? Sage would have been without a doubt the guy I would trust in that situation. And as we saw last year, a game or two is a big deal when it comes to playoff seeding.

Now, all we have under contract after this year is Joe Webb? Awesome...

Really really disappointed in this move. The entire front office just lost a lot of my trust by not being willing to cut Jackson. And I have been a Jackson apologist for most of his career.

    2. TJack only has one year left on his contract, so even if anyone wanted him, they probably wouldn't pull the trigger.
    3. If Favre gets hurt, Sage or TJack aren't winning us a Super Bowl so who cares.
    4. TJack seems to be well liked by teammates.

So keep that in mind before you bitch about this trade.
Plus Rosencopter was 3rd in the depth chart, not to mention was going to make about another $3 mil for holding a clip board.

With Zygi paying Favre an additional $15 mil over what Favre's original signed contract was, (But it wasn't about the money. LOL!)that money has to come from somewhere.

They'll resort back to what they were doing for years before Culpepper & what they thought they could do with Brad Johnson.

Sign an aging vet wanning in his prime & hopping he can take a talented team that many thought/think was a QB away from a SB.

So, who's an available FA QB for us next year? Which one will Cowher sign?

People: remove emotion, become a GM...for a second.

Value for QB? Zero for TJack, except for in the Vikings System. No, I'm not a fan, but, he has more value here than anywhere else. At some point, we need to defer...

Reynaud? As a RB, goodbye. A WR, fringe, at best. Returner? Replaceable...no question.

This move is not earth shaking... at all.

For the record, I think TJack sux, and Rosencopter is worse.

Yeah ... I was almost laughing at the ease at which the Internet has made complaining.

Hell ... just 10 years ago or so nobody would really be talking about this because it does not matter.

If any of the players involved in this deal matter to the teams that are involved at any point, then it is a lost season. The Giants are not going to win with Sage coming in, they certainly are not going to plug Reynaud in at RB to spell Bradshaw and Jacobs.

We certainly are not contenders if Favre goes down whether we have Sage or T-Jack.

But this day and age ... stuff like this is made to light up Internet boards and then go away to be reviewed and laughed at months or years from now.

    I'll be a GM.

My team is playing for a championship. Injuries happen. So I choose to trade my best backup QB.

My special teams unit has been bad for years. Reynaud is hands down the best punt returner I have on my roster and has versatility in case a RB or WR goes down. Can he be replaced? Sure but not with the season less than a week away.

I only move these two if I care more about the bottom line.

It is just stupid. I get the Rosen trade, Childress will never let his joke of a project Jackson go. That pretty much forced Rosenfels out.

Giving Reynuad away with him makes no sense. Give away a future conditional pick if a team needed motivation to take on Sage's contract. We need what Darius brings right now.

Very good point. Remember the saying

"The value of something is not what you think it is, but rather what someone is willing to offer you for it"

We can hate either player all we want, but if neither has much value, take what you can get. Hopefully someone can turn the picks into stars for us.

    Re:Sage Rosenfels traded to Giants

I too was pissed when I first heard this. Especially the loss of Reynaud and his return skills which I was impressed with.

However, again I have to defer to the coaches who know and see much more than I do. And I can only assume that these two were both going to be cut and not make the roster and we decided to get some value for them where none would be. Also if either of these moves were to clear up money to make a run at TJ Housh... if he gets cut loose then I am better with that. Although what I have seen of Camirillo and Walker I think they can fill in acceptably in Sydneys absence.

I am more worried about the OL right now, and when I saw Sorgi go down I was hoping that we might find a suitor for Sage (since I knew that was our coaches plans) in the Giants but I was hoping for a lineman that might give us a chance at more flexibility. A little dissapointed in just getting future picks, but I guess it depends on what round they turn out to be.
