That's not exactly true, is it? Bennett had several good seasons at running back, if you look at his stats. Moore played in ALL of teh Vikings regular season games last season, which hardly makes him injury prone.

I'm not "worked up" bout this, just puzzled. I thought that prt of being a good coach was to get the best out of the players at your disposal. One position I did not feel that we were weak in was Running Back, so I was puzzled why another one was signed.

I've seen that Mewelde is now listed as No 2 on the depth chart in some sources. Yesterday, on vikings.com, he was listed as number four.

    2005 vs. 2006 RBs

    1.
Bennett vs. Taylor - Yes Taylor is unproven but when he did start in Baltimore he averaged over 100 yards per game.
Bennett isn't good and is oft injured.
IMO just as unproven because he is inconsistent.
He had 3 good runs and maybe a good game here or there.
    No big loss.

    2.
Memo vs. Memo - No change there

    3.
    M. Williams vs. Fason - Though I like Williams a lot Fason is a younger version and has more speed than Moe.

    4.
Fason vs. Pinner - Don't know much about this yet

    Can't see why there's a problem here.
Nothing but upgrades in my opinion.

    Michael Bennett's career stats:

    RUSHING
Year Team G GS Att Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ FD
    2001 Minnesota Vikings 13 13 172 682 4.0 31 2 3 23
    2002 Minnesota Vikings 16 16 255 1296 5.1 85 5 9 47
    2003 Minnesota Vikings 8 7 90 447 5.0 28 1 3 17
    2004 Minnesota Vikings 11 7 70 276 3.9 25 1 1 14
    2005 Minnesota Vikings 16 6 126 473 3.8 61 3 3 21
    TOTAL
    64 49 713 3174 4.5 85 12 19 122

2nd season, he had a great year, for sure.
His last 3 years, he rushed for 100 yards LESS than that year.
    Why?
Not because of his talent or speed - but because of his injuries.

As to MeMo - perhaps the perception of him being injured is stronger than the reality - fact is, the COACHES are the ones who talked about how his talent was a good as anyone's, when he wasn't hurt.

To be a #1 back, you have to stay on the field.

    Re: Running Backs

i'm still clinging to the fact that behiend T.r, and our left Oline.. u put any healthy back and they'll have plenty of highway type lanes to run.

what worries me, i might have to pull an all nighter and go to the office zombified tuesday.

    Re: Running Backs

i say as our entire RB corps, im not worried about it, if one is unable to perform at a time, i do think we have 3 qualified, yet unproven backs.

with the line and T.R, we should be just fine.. just wait till we see all the starters in for an entire game
