I actually worry more about Udeze being missed in the run defense.
I learn something new each offseason, and this year it was the expected roles of the LDE and RDE in the 4-3 scheme (thanks Marrdro!).

The LDE's primary job is to stop the run.
Second is containment, and third is to pressure the QB.
The job priority is reversed for the RDE, which makes sense because he is usually rushing the QB's blind side.

So with Udeze out for the season, I hope our filler at LDE can contribute to the run as much as Udeze did.

Just a thought, didn't we switch Udeze to RDE (unsuccessfully) when James went down in 06?
Who filled in for him at LDE?

Yea, like there are no other teams that run a 4-3 cover 2 that don't have the DT's or DE's drop back into coverage.
