Thread: Rumor: The Packers want Studwell

There was a mention of this in yesterdays Star & Tribune and apparently it has some legs.

The Greenbay Puckers have interest in filling the position left by Mr Hatley's death a few weeks ago, and top of their list is Scott Studwell (damn thieves). :angryfire:

With how well the Vikes have drafted over the last 2 years Studwell has gained a lot of respect around the league. The Vikes just signed Studwell to a 2 year contract after this years draft, but it the Packers would give him a promotion he would be able to get out of the contract as long as it's not a lateral move. ale:

Well, they stole Hatley from the Bears, why not go after the Vikings front office now.

I wonder if Studwell would leave the Vikes after all of these years. Anyhow, I say we send him over there so that he can intentionally mess up their team by trading away all of their good players and such. For example, he could trade Brett Favre for Shuan Hill to become our 3rd string quarterback. He could draft 3 punters in the first three round next year.

After that, of course, we would hire him back.

I could be wrong, but my gut says there is no way the Vikings organization lets Studwell go to the Packers after the apparent success of our last two drafts. They will pay him whatever he wants, give him whatever title he demands, to keep him in the fold. Plus, Studs is a lifetime Viking; I can't believe he'd jump ship to our arch-rivals.

Studwell could get paid more than Tice and be worth every penny.

I saw this in the paper as well - I'm sure it's possible, but it'll never happen - Studwell was, is and always will be a VIKING...

Besides, look how well the Packers are doing on their own...
