Thread: Roy William Rumor

I searched and didnt't find anything on this, so hopefully, it isn’t repeat.
But there are now reports out on ESPN.com and NFL.com that the Lions will be shopping Roy Williams before the Oct. 14th trade deadline.
Do you guys think he would be worth say a 2nd rounder for?

I know these are fun posts, but I think this one is a lot more interesting then say Garcia what if’s.


I think we should go for him, at least make an offer.
He is a big target, goes across the middle, goes deep, he is a fairly complete WR. He is definitely someone that defenses have to plan for.
I think the only hard thing that would come up would be Detroit wanting to keep him out of the division.
But if that wasn’t an issue I think he would definitely be worth a 2nd round pick.
Or even a 2nd and conditional 6th – 7th round pick.
I just have visions of a spread formation much like Indy runs.
With Berrian, Rice, Williams, and Wade and Peterson in the backfield.
Wade and Rice would probably have stellar years with teams having to cover Berrian and Williams well.
And teams could not stack 7 or 8 iin the box.
We would be going against 5-6 men in the box
consistently.

I searched every combination of Row, Williams, trade, Detroit, WR, Rumor I could think of.

Dont think the Lions will trade him within the division.. and now that Millen is gone, there is no chance at him blowing it.

I would have no trouble going
for this trade. Our receivers just haven't been what we thought this year with Barrian injured and Shank dropping balls. We need another receiver than can stretch the field and a good QB badly.

For a 2nd rounder - in a heartbeat.
