I mean some are so easy to jump the gun when there is an ounce of negitive press to the team.
good job press, you did a wonderful job telling a positive story about the vikings!
wheres the story in that? that doesnt sell papers.
now, if they PUT those kids in the hospital, THERES a story!
:
It may not sell a ton of papers, but when it comes time for a new stadium, this type of goodwill has a positive inflence in getting one. It helps take away from the negative press we get due to DUI's, indecent exposers, fights & the love boat.
You must think are chances are better with the negative press only?

i was joking, sarcasm is hard to pick up on the internet, i know, i got in the sarcastic mood after reading replies before mine
Where were the really big names on the team though?
I would've been more impressed if the true team "stars" were there!

This is a good story, nice to hear about the team doing great things in the community...BUT this was a report from Viking.com, the Vikes own sight, I checked the Star Trib and they didn't cover it, did any of the local outlets cover this good news?
Just wondering

Singer this is very unlike you and taking headlines lessons from Prophet is not the best thing to do!
I never believe Prophets headlines and scrutinize his post because he posts the onion and pickle stories pretending that they are true.

Well, I for one am happy that there was a positive story about the Vikes. It's good to see them getting some recognition for giving back to the community. That is certainly better than a freakin' story about the Love Boat for the 1000th time. It may not be gripping journalism, but it's nice to have an uplifting story somehwere in the doom and gloom of everyday media."PurpleRide" wrote:

I like the fact that these guys are doing events like this. It's finally getting the attention away from bad events and giving a little bit of nice things for these guys.
now if we can do the same on the field and forget about all the loss's in the past.. all the almost had it chances.. and finally GET it!!

It's not the media directly that has the influence, it's the readers (the voters) who do.I dont think the media has too much of an influence over a stadium.
If it did, there are too many idiots still in mn.
Leave I say! Go back to Iowa!
The players will come and go, the team will not come back after its gone.
If the readers sway their opinion on a few players actions and overwhelm the state reps about it, they are idiots.
The stadium issue is about if the state should loan money to a team to keep them here, to bring national events like a super bowl, like the final four(both bring in hundreds of millions of dollars per event), like big name concerts during the summer months, many more conventions to that area.
These are the big issues to wrestle with, not if a player is having sex in a stairwell.
Anyone who opposes a stadium because of a players sex life is lost and is a complete idiot.
I hope the what about the kids chant never comes up again as well, with or without a stadium, the state will not give money to the kids.
The stadium money will not effect education in a negitive way at all.
Dont make others dumber by even brining this up.
I hate this issue because the anti-stadium people have no real reason.
Everything they say is false.
Roads do not fall apart because stadiums are built, schools do not close, the homeless stay homeless, there is not an increase of homeless people because a person cannot afford 25 cents on every $20.00 you spend.
The state gave money to other millionaires and billionaires for their personal businesses(best buy, 3M,Gen Mills, the guthrie is used by the rich, not nescessarly the poor).
You republican whore!
