We have had some luck with rookie recievers that have a chip on their shoulder. Lets hope it continues.

Sounds like good news friends! IF that combo of size and speed can keep healthy, he very well could be the steal of the draft. We've had some good luck in the 4th before, and we had 3 picks there this year, may that luck run through all three picks!!
Goona be a tough call on that 5th WR spot this season. Gotta figure, Harvin, Jenkins, Simpson pretty much locks, not much chance of Childs slipping to the PS unless he gets injured, leaving one spot unless Wright can make the team as our return specialist...Aromashodu might not make it...?Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

I loved the pick and had some discussions with others who thuoght we should have addressed the WR position earlier. I gave the stats of Hill a GT -WR and Childs and said that Childs is coming from a pro style offense and I think he will be a better pro than Hill if his knee is healthy. I am excited to see alll our draft choices, I thnk speilman did a good job this year and we will be a much better team.
Other prospects really like and where we took them is Guyton (7th round) who was on Kipers and McShays top 100 prospects. And I like the other 7th round pick Cole, I think he really upgrades our Lb core. If he doesn't steal a starting job, I think he will be our back up at SAM and MIKE, not bad for two 7th rounders.
There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

However. it really doesn't take a hell of a lot to win one of the back up LB spots, given our roster.
Other than our starters Brinley, Greenway & Henderson, there isn't another LB on the roster with any NFL experience & Cole is the only LB we drafted this year.
He's virtually guaranteed a back up spot just by being drafted.Last edited by singersp; 05-25-2012 at 05:16 PM.

I loved the Greg Childs pick for where we got him. I would have loved to have Randle and Him as our two WRs however.

I really can't wait to see what he can do for us as well. Was originally hoping we'd take Stephen Hill and originally thought we were going to nab him with our second first round pick, but after watching some film on Childs and after reading what I've read I really think he can be a diamond in the rough.
Though a little undersized I'm also enthusiastic about Jarious Wright as well. Rueben Randle would have been nice but we needed to trade up to booster our laughable secondary. I really think also with Simpson after week three that he should have a lot of decent targets to work with. As always I'm drinking the Purple Kool-Aid but the receiving core nonetheless is much improved from last year.
