    Robison possibly needs surgery

    http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1778#more-1778
Defensive end Brian Robison said he was told by doctors today that he has a vein in the calf area of his left leg that he “has to get worked on.” Robison, the Vikings’ backup right end to Jared Allen, said he should know more either later today or tomorrow morning but that surgery is a possibility.

The article says he should be out two to three weeks.

Doesn't sound as bad as an infected bursa sack, hope he's 100% for the week one and crushing whoever is playing QB for the Packers

Damage to a vein sounds worse than an infected bursa to me.

I actually bursted my bursa sack in sophomore year of high school. It was a JV football game against the Linden Tigers, I had two sacks, a batted pass, and a forced fumble in the first half.

The first sack was on a QB rollout, and I caught the kid from behind, dragging him down by the jersey with one arm.

The second one was awesome. I put a quick swim move on the guard, who barely touched me, and sacked the QB at full speed, by far the hardest I've ever hit someone, forced a fumble. The kid went to the sidelines, minutes later he was in an ambulance. It was either a rib or shoulder injury, he got jacked up. I've never had a bigger smile on my face on a football field.

We were up 35-0 at the half. Play resumes, first series I get into the backfield(again ) I'm on the hunt for the QB again, approaching him from behind, when I get pushed, I was basically mid-stride my back foot was about to leave the grass. I go straight down on my right knee cap. It was the size of a grapefruit by the time I got to the sideline.

But it's really a minor injury. The athletic trainer wouldn't let me play on it, and since the season was almost over she said she wouldn't advise getting it drained because it's an invasive procedure, and I was only a sophmore so it wasn't worth it
    :-\

The bursa is intended to protect the knee cap from shattering, it's basically a cushion. So it's really not that important, it's just there for protection.

Kind of like Bullet Proof vests for cops aren't that important they're just there for protection.
