ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the New York Giants have signed free agent DT Fred Robbins (Vikings) to a six-year, $21 million deal that included a $4 million signing bonus.

Robbins never did much to impress he did make a few good plays but injuries and inconsistant play were a trade mark with him so I do not think he was a big loss.

Excellent run-stuffer, but thats all. He showed signs of being able to rush the passer, but just didn't dilever. I wish him well, Coughlin will whip him into shape or he'll be a Free Agent next season too.

Right on guys. Good for Fred. He never would have seen that kind of money here. He did make some plays, but he was not a difference maker. Steve Martin and Billy Lyon will do just fine. In fact, I prefer Steve Martin, experience factor, and used to play for Ted C.
