    Ricky Williams?

I hope there isnt a thread like this yet. I looked but didnt find one. If there is I apologize ahead of time. MUCH LOVE TO MY VIKINGS FANS!!!

Anyway, most of us know about the Ricky Williams situation. If you dont, he was one of the prime running backs for a few years, and up and decided to retire. He moved to a foreign country (All good, no racism) and lived in a tent for $3 dollars a day for 3 months. He retired at the beginning of last season and is coming back this year. One other thing,......he popped a pee test that would have made him sit out last year for the first 4 games.

To make a long thread even longer....would you want him to be on your team? He quit once, and who knows why? Was it the fear of facing the pee test? Was it that he wanted to retire in his prime? Is this the type of player that you would want on your team fighting in the trenches.

Oh, to make things worse....this year he will be about the only decent player on the team (With a few execptions).

alright ill say a few things.. First off if I had to choose between Bennett and Williams now i'd take Williams.. The dude is a stud and will have a decent year.. I'm all for giving people second chances.. So if I had the chance to pull the trigger on a trade i'd do that in a hearbeat

i dont know if i would take him. i know if it wasnt for his troubles i would take him in a heartbeat. the guy is one of the best at what he does you cant argue that. so at this point if he werent that expensive i would take him, but not to be our franchise back.

No I wouldn't want him to be a Viking, not only did he quit on his teammates right before training camp, he also ha sa penchant for the 'green smoke'. Imagine the smoke in the back field next year when Onterrio comes back.

I can hear it now Cheech is coming into the game to replace Chong.

    Cheers!

No to Williams. No doubting the guys talents but there is no doubt to this guys mental instability. He's been unstable since coming to the league with the Saints. Why do you think the Saints got rid of him when they did? He is a better talent than any other back we have right now as far as what he has proven. That doesn't mean I want him on the team. I think he has something to prove and may have a good, solid year. Who knows? I just wouldn't want him.

No, I wouldn't take him. He was a head case with the Saints and still is one. He came out strong after the trade to the Fins, but then dogged his team mates by quitting without warning. More power to him if he went through rehab and is all better.

Right now he is in the same situation as Mike Tyson financially. Tyson is choosing the porn industry to come out of debt and Ricky is coming back to the sport that made him famous. The Fins will not be paying him big coin because he owes them millions of dollars. I'm banking on the Fins trying to get back their money by paying him a low salary after the signing and then legally garnishing his wages wherever he goes. My guess is that his already marginal attitude will go further south and he will be a cancer on whatever team he ends up on.

that possibly might be the truth. after one year of plaing for the fins he will hold-out for money--another possible truth. he is a head-case. but i don'y mind him coming back to give it another try with the fins...they need him dearly.
