why would the skins have taken AD, they have portis and betts?
its not all about the 1st rd picks, the last 2 drafts in a whole have been very nice.

Its more of a question of whether drafting AD was a genius move.
Sure, it wasn't a need, but i'm sure 30/32 teams would have taken him with #7.

There is no way of knowing that.
What we do know is that six teams didn't think he was worth a pick higher than 7...
Spielman (and others in the front office) obviously thought he was worth 7, and it was the right decision.

Yeah, I think overall Speilman has done a very good job. But a boner? I don't know about that...

Portis is a little better than CT, and with Betts and Memo, theres no compariosn Betts could be a starter on half the NFL teams, and WAS had a bigger need for FS, they had no one at that position.

What we know is that six other teams had a player they wanted to pick more than AD.

"They are all working together," and when you get the personalities in place that work well together, why not keep it rolling.

Additionally, not only did our first 5 picks all have good rookie years, and flash plenty potential, but we were also able to trade back in the 2nd, still get our guy, and then trade that extra pick into a third this year!
That is like making gold from straw.
