Funny how some have no patience for young guys and expect something a bit sooner (like instant production) these days.

I had a feeling this would happen sooner or later. He was 20 years old when he got drafted. I think alot of his success can be attributed to just growing up physically. Having Favre throwing to you will make a difference as well.

In the offseason, he rededicated himself to his workouts, hoping to strengthen his knee and prepare for the rigors of an NFL season.

Rice worked with Arizona All-Pro, and Minneapolis native, Larry Fitzgerald at the University of Minnesota this summer. Former Vikings great Cris Carter and several other NFL receivers worked out there as well, pushing Rice harder than he had ever been pushed before.

"He's a monster," Fitzgerald said, high praise from perhaps the best receiver in the game today. But Fitzgerald has a point. Rice is a legit 6-foot-4 and can leap, making him an imposing threat on the outside.

That's a big target for new quarterback Brett Favre, who has formed a chemistry with the former South Carolina Gamecock. That was never more evident than on Sunday, when Favre looked Rice's way for several big plays.

True, that is a big part of it.
That 60 yard throw and all the 20 something post that
he has caught wouldn't have happened last year, not because of Rice.

True, that is a big part of it.
That 60 yard throw and all the 20 something post that
he has caught wouldn't have happened last year, not because of Rice.

Yes, because of Rice.
People are seeming to forget that Rice was HURT for 90% of the season last year.
That alone limited his effectiveness, regardless of who the QB was.

For the first time in a long time I'm pretty happy with the receiving corps. Ya we got more work to do, but they are getting better every game, and Percy is a stinking rookie! I'm just worried that we don't have anyone to follow up the old man when he calls it quits.

Good point, and I'm sure some of it can be attributed to him, but gol 'darnit, did you watch ole El Syd snatching those "Off Target" passes out of the air.
Shanc as well seems to be twisting in ways I'd never thought (and I've been a champion of his on this site) I'd see.

The way he almost did a 180 to get that TD was remarkable.

Again, give Noodle arm credit, however, one of the big differences I see in our QB play this year is the willingness to throw the ball without hesitancy and being confident that the ball will get there.

My guess, TJ can and will be able to do that and I will still be willing to give credit to the WR who actually caught the ball that was thrown behind him.
