Re: Rice catch ranked 2 this week

Nice to see, too bad it didn't happen a little earlier in the game.

It was a good catch and will do Rice's own confidence and that of the coaching staff a lot of good. maybe the QB's will start to look for him a little more in the games.

    Let's hope so.
This guy catches everything close to him.

I think it were Z posting it in the Gen. NFL Forum
I remember seeing it also under a title like NFL top 10 catches of the week or something like that, but when I did a search for it, I could not find it.
That's saying something if you couldn't find an article... it probably doesn't exist.

I googled "top 10 catches" and came up with:

Yes. I seem to recall them saying he was Moss like on that catch! ...

Funny how one of the top links was ours.
Someone must have changed the name on the thread.

    Not change, but merged.

Yes, I merged the two together.
I started the thread in the General NFL forum, then someone started one in the Viking forum.
It seemed logical to move it to the Viking forum because of the comments about the Rice catch being similar to the ones in the newer thread.
I did keep the Subject line on the NFL forum post with the old thread name on it so when someone wants to search for the title that they remember seeing, they can do so.
If you search PPO for Top Ten Catches, it brings you to this thread.

If you go back to the first page, you will see the difference in the subject lines of each post, you can see which thread the original post originated in.
I left it that way so if you have an inkling of the title, it is easily findable on the PPO search function.
Like I said, if you are looking at a thread and you think you have seen it before, it looks like you might be looking at a similar thread to something you have seen before, go back and look at subject title of the post and that will tell you what you need to know.
When I merge threads, I try to leave the Subject the same to show where they originated.

I loved that play, seeing him do that made the loss not as bad. I hope we throw to him more often he is deff similar to Moss. He has height and hands. Just needs to work on routes and speed. Man I wish we could give him Bobby Wades route running and Troy Williamsons speed he would be god, it would not matter who we had at QB then haha.
    ;D
Routes were never one of Moss's strong points, so Rice is already good there.
I was watching TO on NFLN last night.
He was Wired for Sound and they had the camera on him to highlight him for this little segment.
It is amazing how he gets off the line.
He will go after the DB that is trying to bump him to bump him first.
TO is strong and he usually can push the DB back away from him and step to the side he wants to run on and he is gone.
TO likes that contact it seems like it is to his advantage.
I found the video on nfl.com, but they shortened it up and took out the first part of his routes.

I think most of our WRs just want to Run and they don't want the contact.

The good thing about Rice, is that he has the natural ability to catch with his hands and the agility to move his body around in the air, kind of like defying gravity.
I am sure he can improve on his route running skills.
I hope to God that our coveted WR coach is continually teaching on the side.
