Great catch but bad throw. 9 out of 10 times that is gonna be picked off, luckily the defender was out of position.
    That's true.
A great receiver can make a mediocre QB look pretty good.
Moss did a lot of that for us, remember those toss-ups that Moss came down with nearly every time?
I love the way Rice just ripped it away.

How many times do I have to repeat this.

Those balls were put up there on purpose. That's where Moss wanted them put so he could go up & catch them. He had great leaping ability, could out leap the defender & he wanted to use it to to the teams advantage so the balls would be caught vs. possibly knocked away.

It was talked about during more than 1 Vikings game when he was here.

Call me a crotch sniffer, but I think Moss' was better. To go over the top of the corner, bring your lower body back in bounds and then getting your feet down is more difficult than simply going over the top of the corner. Unless theres another degree of difficulty I'm missing.

And what was better about Rice's than Burress'?

I feel like I'm ripping one of our own players, but I'm not trying to I just don't think it was that great of a grab.

I think that you have to factor in the speed at which Rice was moving one direction and had to turn his body and snatch it out of the air..
Both Moss and Plax we more of a run to a spot and go for the jump ball.
It is hard to argue all three of those catches, comes down to personal preference.
Probably not a right or wrong answer as to which one is better, debatable.

    You can stop anytime.

Planned or not, Moss made some mediocre QB's look good.
I could have launched some of those "planned" jump balls.
I just hope to see Rice used more.

I remember seeing it also under a title like NFL top 10 catches of the week or something like that, but when I did a search for it, I could not find it.

Me too. Unfortunately I made the post first, then did the search. Kind of like shoot first, ask questions later.

But I'm glad you remember it too, that makes me confident that it were posted somewhere, at sometime.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Rice has great body control, and when he is covered one on one, my money is on him to go get the ball. Hopefully we'll see alot more catches like that real soon. He really had a good game against the pack and should have had another TD on that overthrow.
