I'm liking the sound of that.

Maybe, but the knock on Rhodes is his recovery speed in zone play and his long downfield speed which is average for a cornerback.

Is Rhodes a one-dimensional player? Is being more aggressive his only good play? I am hoping not, but the Vikings have not drafted a great cornerback in a very long time.

Woods already said it will be a mixture with more of a man/press coverage. I for one am excited for that. I love when teams are physical and have been asking for those types of corners for years. Now we have two. This is going to be exciting.

I'm 100% against this. As a good friend of mine told me once, a good coach get's players that fit his schemes and doesn't change his schemes around his players.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

Maybe he just didn't have the players to fit his scheme. Now he does.

indeed I hate seeing our corners line up and give the WR a 5 yd cushion as often happens. Hopefully Rhodes can help cut that down and actually give the WRs a hard time and wishing they were on the opposite side of the field.

That is what we need. QBs like Rodgers rely on timing with the WRs and the best way to throw him off is to lock on to the WR and knock them off their routes at the LOS.

    Perhaps your friend is wrong.

The GM gets the players & it's the coaches job to either best fit him into his scheme or change that scheme to cater to that players strengths. If the coach wastes those talents because he doesn't adjust the scheme to better utilize them, he's not a very good coach IMO.
