Re: Review the depth chart post draft

Am I the only one concerned about the lack of or non-existant depth at the tackle & guard positions?

No. It's only logical that we sign 2 or 3 more guys just for depth. Maybe some undrafted FA's. I highly doubt we go into the season with basically no backups.

The depth chart on NFL.com, which is from the end of the season, has Cook as the RT.
We might be able to move Johnson inside and take Hicks spot.

I think the first round of next years draft will be either a RT or RG pick.
We seem to be lacking quality depth on the OL.
Heck our right side is suspect still.
Obviously from this years draft, we decided to find potential offensive play makers to try and keep the D's playing honest.
Maybe that will help our line from being stampeded.

Ciurciu, never heard the name pernounced, I am sure I would butcher it if I had to say it.
    LOL!
It seems that they got this guy for a reason other than special teams.
Could this be a surprise player for 2007.
Maybe he is just a ST guy.
But he did back up MLB in Carolina.

2004: Played in all 16 games with four starts at middle linebacker for injured Dan Morgan...Posted 33 tackles...Saw action primarily on special teams, contributing nine stops.

You would think Childess would have addressed that int the later rounds of the draft.

How good of a guard or tackle are you going to get from an undrafted player? I think there is a pressing need to shore up that right side.

I was pretty excited to start with, however, gotta say yes.

I had a huge one all weekend even though I was a bit hung over the second day.

Great breakdown on the depth chart.

Gonna hold off until they list the unsigned FA's they are brining in.

As the 53 man deadline approaches there will be guys walking the plank from around the league.

You need to have quality to go along with that availability, not just a body.

Well, it's not like we're signing starters. A few june 1st cuts for depth would be fine.

The team is extremely young, I just hope we get enough of the guys from the past two drafts to pan out. If AP is 100% he will start over CT. Why? because his nickname is AD: All Day.

It's the starters I'm worried about. Perhaps if they move Johnson over & take hicks out, his play will improve. Cook is still unproven at a RT position, but he did play well when Childress put him in there.

Either way, I hope they can stay healthy. Any injury on the right side could make for a huge problem there.
