    Resign Hovan?

After his play last season, no one is going to sign him to "big money". I agree with a previous poster that Hovan doesn't need to be a 10 sack guy to be a star in the NFL, but he has to make more impact than he did last season.

As you stated, though, re-sign him after a PRODUCTIVE season.

I disagree. Look how much money these backup FA DB's got this offseason. If next year there is a run on DE's, some fool will overpay Hovan.

I agree with the Packer. Resign now, pay less. We will have a hard time signing him next year

Los tell those hatin' folk on packerchatters to ease up.

    Resign Hovan?

Why not sign Hovan to a 5 year Culpepper type contract. I don't mean money wise but incentive based. Say something like 2.5 mill for 5 years with another 2.5 in incentives. $250,000 extra for getting 10 or more sacks, $100,000 for making the pro bowl. They could even put an opt out option in the contract after 2 years if they want. This could be a win win for both Hovan and the vikes.

I'm with you man - He's in the final year of his contract..., you KNOW he will have a productive year - because he'll be working for the big payoff. If he'll agree to big bonus incentives he'll work hard, and make big money.
