The refs made the right call on the Shiancoe catch

Another web site is reporting that on KSTP TV from the Twin Cities on their "Sports Wrap" show,
the showed the apparent catch by Shiancoe was not a catch after all. A KSTP cameraman caught the play from a different angle than Fox Sports had on the TV.

KSTP claims it was absolutely NOT a catch.
Shiancoe's forearm slid out and the ball was on the ground.
He then quickly covered it up as if he had caught it.

I'm wondering if anyone else caught this show? I checked out KSTP's website but I cannot find the clip on there.

If they are right, then there goes that excuse.

It is a definate disadvantage when there are fewer cameras in the stadium.
All we ever got to see was one angle of the play.
If they are going to have instant replay there should be the same number of cameras for every game.

I didn't believe it either, until they showed the view from where the ref was, and then in super slow motion.
It was close though, and could have gone either way.
If it was called a touchdown it would not have been reversed.

My confusion came from the fact that he had control of it when he went down and when he came up. Wouldn't calling it an incompletion be a violation of the Bert Emmanuel rule?
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

I do believe that it was a catch.
I watched it several times in HD, and looked every bit to me that it was a catch.
I understand the ref's call though, when he could see the ball, it was not controller.
Then Shank's body rolled and the ref lost sight of the ball, and had to make the call based on what he saw last.

It was the wrong call, but I understand the ref on the field making it.

Either way it should not be used as an excuse.
Good teams win despite bad calls.
We pwned them the entire first half.
All we had to do was score anything in the second half and the outcome would have been different.
I don't accept the fact that one bad call cost us the game.

The Bert Emmanuel rule states that as long as a receiver has control of the ball at all times, it is a complete pass even if the ball touches the ground.
I don't think he had control of it as he went down, and he definitively gained control as he came up, so this would not apply.

My contention is that the ball never touched the ground.
It looked like Shank had his arm under it the entire time.

I'm fully convinced he caught that ball.
Both hands securely on the ball, until he hits the turf.
If it gets loose at that point it no longer matters-ground caused the fumble.
Looked to me to be all good anyway!!
Sure, good teams can sometimes overcome bad calls, but usually, you will get a bad call to go your way and balance it out some, this whole game was called one-sided!
Not a single call went our way...they always leaned toward KC.

Give us that TD and we win 14-13!!
    I am irate!!
Emailing every writer I can find online cuz I want that SOB punished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bullshit.
Give us that TD and we go into the half 14-3 instead of 10-3.
That is the only thing you can say.
If KC was down by one instead of up by 3 in the fourth you can guarantee that the play calling would have been different on both sides of the ball.
You have no idea how the game would have turned out.

Unless it is late in the minutes of the 4th, I will never accept that a bad call changes the outcome of the game.
