Red McCombs set us up for this season

Red really set us up because he didn't resign linehan, and he also traded for a crappy linebacker, he also gave tice a 1 year extension. He really left us with nothing to work with.

How is this someones fault who isn't here anymore?

A team that is almost totally rebuilt, and on paper should dominate.

When the players do not deliver that is where the blame falls.

Red's fault huh?

The reason Red's being blamed is that they've run out of current players & staff to blame. They're all being blamed for other things.

To be factual though, Red was in charge when Linehan left. Zygi was not the new owner yet.

IMO,

The last 4 years, have been all Red's doing. I don't know about "fault."

I don't think that Red "the penny pincher" McCombs put us in the best position to win. Red shouldn't have given Tice the extension for this year. He just was concerned about getting this team ready to sell.

That is just my opinion.

Better coach may have gotten more out of his players. Red was directly responsible for that.

I don't think Cowart is doing that bad myself... if that's who you're talking about. But I suppose you're speaking of Napoleon Harris who is under performing at this point but who knows, perhaps it will pan out.

I thought he pretty much had to. Didn't Tice's contract come due before we played the Pack in the playoffs or the week right after? It was either re-sign him or be in the playoffs without a HC.

No, it was if we signed him we could keep him for 2005 for less than a million. Or if we didn't resign him and he went on to win, he could hold out for more money. Even if he didn't go on and win, he could have held out for more if we wanted to hire him.

It was McCombs being a cheap ass plain and simple.

If McCombs signed Tice, Tice had to honor the cheap ass deal. McCombs didn't have the opportunity to wait until the playoffs were done to see how Tice was doing at that point. It was a technicality in Tices contract.
