Record-setting 1998 Minnesota Vikings aren't sweating Patroits' charge

Record-setting 1998 Minnesota Vikings aren't sweating Patroits' charge

The NFL single-season scoring mark of 556 points is at risk

Unbeaten and seemingly unstoppable, the New England Patriots are on the verge of making NFL history, but are the record holders nervous?

Not the 1998 Vikings......

They just had to bring up the Atlanta loss.... Arrgggh. That still haunts me, but this years team has been explosive also. "The Vikings have 19 plays of 50-plus yards this season, tying a franchise record set in 1998. This year's team has six kickoff returns, six passes, five runs and two interception returns of 50 or more yards." You can score a zillion points, but if you don't go to the superbowl and win what does it mean.

What a year that was. Watching the Vikings score every week that Fall was a joy. Up until the dirty birds stopped us. Still stings, badly, but a great year none the less.

Don't get me wrong, I love and value our tradition and the teams that came before the current team, however, I move on and don't dwell on that stuff so much.

What the hell did that team give me other than some memorable games and moments.
Alot of teams before them did the same.

Flop them and that record.
I only care about what the current team is doing and what they are thinking.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

They gave me a great big box wrapped in shiny paper and ribbons. Problem was, I opened it superbowl day and it was empty!

Records are cool to hold, but rings are forever. Unless you show them to a Russian!
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

I wonder if Randy Moss is worried about the record falling...

The New England Patriots are just 33 points away from breaking the single season scoring record of 556 points set by the 1998 Minnesota Vikings, but strangely enough, these teams were not very similar on offense.........
