Receivers coach hasn't given up on Williamson
http://www.startribune.com/sports/15704672.html
There has been lot of speculation about the future of Vikings wide receiver Troy Williamson, the seventh overall pick in the 2005 draft out of South Carolina, who hasn't lived up the expectations expected of him.
However, if Vikings wide receiver coach George Stewart has a say, Williamson, who is under contract next season for $435,000, will get another opportunity to show what he can do for the team this fall.
Stewart made it clear that the decision on Williamson's future will be made by coach Brad Childress, who when asked about Williamson after the season said, "He is still under contract."
Stewart said he believes that it's unfair to judge Williamson and what he can do in the NFL, because he never has had the same position coach two years in a row. Prior to Stewart, Darrell Wyatt served as Vikings receivers coach in 2006 and Wes Chandler in '05...Kentucky Vikes Fan

Position coach??? For crying out loud! A position coach should teach him the finer points of blocking and route running not how to catch the ball.
Have I ever told you what an outstanding humanitarian I am?

He has to pay the Vikings for that to happen...Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Receivers coach hasn't given up on Williamson
Has it ever been mentioned to use him as a kick returner?
Good speed, but could we trust him to catch those at all?

Williamson couldn't catch a cold. I was at Senser's for the Broncos game, and the entire restaurant was screaming at the screen when he blew that catch. He needs to be banished like Chris Dishman.

How this coach still has a job is beyond me.

You have to trust the coaches. They are experts and know more about him than any of us.
After reading this I predict he will have 1500 yards and 12 td's next year.
