    Re: Roof or no roof???

I don't live there so open it up. Sucks for you to freeze your balls off, but while I'm at home on my couch stuffing nachos and beer in my face not only do I get to see a football game I get to see people and say

"Look at that crazy mutha****** no shirt on in the snow"

It's like double the entertainment for me. As far as production and home field advantage I think you have more advantage in a dome because honestly as the game advances and the equipment advances the best home field advantage is NOISE.

They need to get a retractable roof. Minneapolis is far too cold and it would seriously hurt trying to get players up there I think.
I mean it is further north than any other football team, it gets considerably COLDER than Buffalo, New England, Detroit, Chicago and Green Bay. It would just be smart to make sure you can avoid it when it is at dangerous temperatures.
I am all for building a home-field advantage and a tough team and all that good stuff, but with the expansion of football and so many teams in much better climates losing players would be quite a possibility. Also, for everyone who talks about the advantage of outdoors ... we have a prett significant home-field advantage right now ... 127-67 all-time in the Dome including playoffs, a.655 winning percentage (and that is counting some bad years in the 80's) ... We are 72-28 in the Dome since 1994. Those are some pretty good advantages. The last time we were NOT .500 in the Dome was 1984 ... I don't think we have to play outdoors for a home-field advantage.

Good point, I wouldn't mind the retractable roof.

The articles that I have read, say that it is Anoka that wants the roof so they can use it for other events, who knows? Concerts??? Tractor Pulls and Monster Trucks????

They need the State's Money for that.

    Re: Roof or no roof???

Honestly you want a stadium that is designed to magnify noise for that, you want it enclosed.

This is part of the reason why:

Pat is not pass rusher. I could show you five plays where he is playing the draw. Pat is off the mark. Like he told me this morning, "I kept telling them they better change the snap count." He was just jumping the snap count, but they couldn't change the snap count because the crowd was so good they couldn't hear so they were going on a lot of short count.

So they were going on a lot of short count so they didn't have offside penalties. You look at the Giants yesterday and they had like 11 procedure penalties because of the great crowd noise in Seattle. Our crowd is so good, when our crowd gets rocking it is pretty damn good.

So they were going on a short count and he is jumping the count. He told me at one point he told them, "You better change the count or I'm going to knock him out." He is a smart player with awareness. Now, if they would've gone on a hard count a couple times they might have got him, but they didn't. I know we go hard count in practice to try to screw him up.

I'd like a retractable roof myself. They're cool as hell.
The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

    What the heck happened????????

I put a post on here saying the same thing SnowinApril did about the Anoka County officials were the ones that wanted the retractable roof, not the Vikings. It never showed up. Was there another thread with nearly the same title deleated?

    Confused?????

I read it, it was on page one.

Notice my post is the top of this thread and I didn't start it. Something must have glitched.

You guys keep adding to a moved thread, thats why.

If you click on the "view last post" thingy next to the name of the member who made the last post and reply, it will go here with a moved post. The rest of the post is "merged" with the thread that had the article posted earlier. This was a duplicate post so I "merged" it; did not delete it.

So, quit posting in a moved post by clicking the last post box ().
