IMO if they don't want to expose such a great investment to possible injury they should quit paying the QB so much money. Hell, if they made what the average fullback makes they would let any hit go.

I always found that funny too

On ESPN they praise hits with WRs coming across the middle and getting leveled

Or a special teamer running after a returner and getting flattened as soon as they turn around
Or Hines Ward embedding his helmet into a defender.
i think goodell has something against the vikings.

he fined like our entire defencive line for hitting quarterbacks and crap.

why didnt will smith for instance get fined when he like killed gus? that hit was way worse than what ray did to garcia

Personally I don't care how much our players get fined, so long as it doesn't make them let up.
It's not like they're not making a lot of $.

This is disappointing to hear. I would rather Ray own up to it. It was a late hit no matter how you slice it.

I want our players to not play dirty because I know that if it was our defenseless QB getting hit like that most of us would be outraged. I don't think the hit was dirty but with comments like this it makes me think maybe it was dirty.

Ray owned up to the hit on Garcia...he flat out admitted it was late.
It was the second fine - the supposed leg whip - he was reacting to.

    But his point is valid.
The NFL has gone completely overboard with all of this second guessing and mailing in fines.
They now go over every game after the fact and start doling out fines.
Ironically, they're fining people fopr doing what they get paid to do.

    The pussification of the NFL.
It's getting stupider all the time.

Unfortunately, it's not just the NFL. It's the pussification of America, I've been talking about it for years.

You can't compare the two.. Don't get me wrong, i don't like the babying of qb's, but Edwards hit was waaayy late, Kluwe got blocked out of a play when he was going for the tackle, not even close to the same situations there.

Ya exactly Kluwe was a possible tackler on the play...Edwards demonstrated the definition of roughing the passer

Gus got a late hit yesterday. If it had been allen or ray doing the hit there would have been a flag and a fine.
