Now you've done it. Now BS is going to have to adjust more stats to show how Edwards is just as good as Reggie White was. Darn you O! ;)

if you look at the statistics for our DL, and modify them based on a combination of playing time, number of siblings, distance from their home to the nearest 7-11 and a secret modifier based on their astrological sign, Letroy Guion was actually our most productive pass rusher last year.

Not a bad ranking, considering that only 3 of the 4 are productive. The rest just get thiers cause of the other 3.

It's nice to have the best "Complimentary" pass rusher in the NFL. ;)

He was so good that he put up some of the best numbers in the NFL...but of course, all those other "complimentary" DEs put up just as good of numbers as Ray did...don't they? :silly:

All the while being a stud against the run at the same time...that must be his other compliment... :P

so you don't think RE compliments the otehr 3?

I don't see complimenting one of the best in the business as a bad thing. Jonathan Stewart compliments Deangelo Williams nicely. Gerhart will Compliment Peterson. Our ground game will compliment our passing attack. Potatoes compliment steak, sex compliments a night out with the woman.

Let's leave out the players he's playing next to as a contributing factor once again and you are correct. RE had one of the best years a DE can have. Don't you believe that if JA was complimenting RE the sack numbers would be the other way around?

Now please don't try and twist that into me saying RE is bad and everything falls at his feet. That is not what I am saying. I think he is a solid player. But he is not the player that you and one or two others put up on a pedestal by adjusting numbers and leaving out the causal affects.

Yes, RE is a good complimentary DE to JA. Is that a bad thing? NO! Is it the truth? YES!

back on topic, I'm watching the cowgirls playoff game vs us and ray edwards had a killer game, that we can all agree on. But do you not see how much it was because of Jared Allen? Seriously. Allen always had an RB/TE helping out to block him, plus the LT. Edwards was an afterthought by the defense, and he made them pay. If he can elevate his game and prove the boys game wasn't a fluke, then he'll be more than a complEMEntary pass rusher (sorry I just had to throw that out there, its complementary with an E, not with an I, if you have an I in there it suggests that he is giving him compliments, or praise).

Two other notes from this game

A difference I noticed between Favre and Jackson is that until the play is dead, it isn't over for Favre. I see him running down field to block on multiple plays. Also I don't know how people can say Favre doesn't have deep ball accuracy? Thats ridiculous.

Another thing, Chester Taylor had a huge whiff on Demarcus Ware. That just stuck out to me because people are always talking up his pass locking ability.

On a side note, I hope he is still on the team when you come around, but I don't think its gonna happen, especially now that we are seeing rumors that the staff is talking to Shanc about extensions when he has 2 years left.

Actually CT didn't miss the block. He didn't see him coming and went out for a pass instead.
CT also fumbled once in awhile. He wasn't perfect, but will be harder to replace than you may think.

First you said Favre had a noodle arm and couldn't throw the long ball.
Once that proved false, you said he couldn't throw the long ball accurately.
I can't find the post by BS that showed Favre to be the most accurate passer at 20yds.,30yds.,and 40 yds, last season.

Long passes should always be less accurate than short passes.
Just like shooting a gun.
Some will be off target.

But the inacuracy claim appears to be another fabricated myth.

Why do you guys keep saying that it was to issues? I never said he couldn't throw it deep and then shifted to accuracy. It was the whole basis of Baldies analysis that he couldn't throw it deep accurately anymore.

Maybe you are mixing that issue with the followon discussions abot if his arm was gonna pop again if he continued to throw it deep.

I was on that bandwagon for a while but it had nothing to do with the accuracy discussion, which came first by the way.

Just a recap...

Of the top 12 rated QBs Favre had best QB Rating at 20+, 30+, and 40+

He had best accuracy at 40+ (%compl)
2nd best at 30+
3rd best at 20+

Pretty good for the "noodle".

The "weak point" in Favre's game seems to be the 10 to 30 yard range. He is pretty dominate in the "Short"/"Long" range , but, as a master of the West Coast offense that shouldn't be a big surprise.
