Jets record since 1998
1998 12 - 4
1999 8 - 8
2000 9 - 7
2001 10 - 6 Herm's 1st year
2002 9 - 7
2003 6 - 10
2004 10 - 6
2005 4 - 12 Herm's let go
Nothing special.
They had more talent when Herm took over than when he left. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Yes, that is the proper use of tosser."Benet" wrote:
He wasn't even OUR first choice, you tosser! (Is that the proper use of "tosser"?)I should hope he is one of the top rookie head coaches considering the fact that he was the consensus #1 choice in the off-season and was courted by a number of clubs. It's just that we got in first and didn't let him leave!
Our first choice, to remind you, was Gregg Williams - until Danny Snyder threw big $$$ at him to become assistant head coach and Joe Gibbs' right-hand man and stay with Washington.
=Z=
Edited to fix spelling. No, not for tosser.
And yes, I knew that Gregg Williams was our first choice, but it was obvious early on in the off-season that he was going to stay in Washington. It was well-known that Childress would be one of the top targets for any club needing a new HC in that hiring cycle, if not THE top target, it just so happened that he came to interview with us first and we kept him.
Eh, I'd have been happy with Williams or Childres. Glad we got one of them, I wouldn't have wanted Sean Peyton or Mike McCarthy!

As for putting Linehan in front of Childress, that's just the sports media twisting the knife in us as usual...

Why is everyone so high on Herm Edwards? It only took him 4 years to destroy the Jets, and the talking heads think he is a god!
 They do? :???:
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful
Wife
And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here?
Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.
And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!
Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
