Quotes From Winter Park - Childress

I'm really not in the mood to discuss the game. Unfortunately some have to, like Chilly who gave this interview today.

    Childress:
Excuse me for being late; I had one of our players up in the office. I needed to spend a little time.
I wonder what that was all about?
I notice he gave Holcomb a bit of heck for not stepping up in the pocket. Good for him.

    Quote from Childress
Q: Could your offensive line be playing better?

A: Everybody could be playing better. I am not singling them out as playing better; I know the fashionable thing is to say that “jeez, there was a lot of pressure on the quarterback”.
Some of it was brought on himself, some of it was as I mentioned to you is throwing the football away and living to play another down.
I am not willing to do that; all of our guys could be more technically proficient. on Holcomb.
    Then later he says:
There was a couple of the those rushes and pressures, again guys, when you get in a seven-step drop game the quarterback has to step up, he has to slide up in the pocket a little bit.

Q: Do you expect Tarvaris Jackson being healthy enough to start or is it still up in the air this week?

A: Still up in the air this week.
He didn’t do anything today and he is going to get in the pool tomorrow and move around.
We’ll see how that goes; being in the water is a lot different than being on hard land.

Q: If he can’t, is it open again where Brooks Bollinger could be the starter or are you locked in with where you are?
A: No, if he (Jackson) can’t go, Kelly (Holcomb) will go.
Anyone else remember last year after TJack had his surgery.
The coaching staff ahd to get on him to keep working at his rehab.
I wonder if he is facing the same issue this year.
Two weeks seems to be an awful long time for a groin injury.

Isn't jackson seeming to be a little injury prone so far in his short career? I am too damn lazy to look it up right now but he missed several games last year with a bum knee and this year he is on his way to missing 2-3 weeks with a strained groin. To me that seems excessive for someone we are supposed to hang our hats on for the next decade.

Maybe someone can pull up the stats that show Farve,Manning,Brady and every other QB they are comparing TJ to that will show they missed just as man games at this point in their careers.

You cannot compare Brady and Manning's injury histories to TJack's.

First of all, TJack has only been in the league 2 years compared to the better part of a decade for the other two.
TJack might not sit out another game for the rest of his career for all we know.

    Second:
Brady and Manning have offensive lines that know how to PASS-PROTECT.
Even Favre has had a quality pass-protecting O-line for the better part of his career.

    Third:
Those three QB's know how to get the ball out, and have the receivers to help them do so by getting open, thus reducing the punishment they take when they drop back to pass.
Rock out with your cock out!!!
