Brees is not the best QB but you are right that it would be better to have Brees. He is younger and we would have him for more years. But that is not reality, if we are WISHING for QBS you may as well wish all the way and wish for Manning or Brady!!!gagarr wrote:
Truth of the matter is, there is no difference between what one brings over the other, except maybe one is a bit more mobile than the other. One has alot left with respect to his career. Not much different than Brees does to the Saints.
Does the Noodle hold more records? Sure, but what the hell does that have to do with it. Those stats are in the past.
Again, I know why I would want one over the other, mostly my dislike of one but honestly, I can't believe anyone wouldn't trade even up right now.
Clearly Brees is the better QB, right now. Isn't that the excuse we hear out of the Noodle crowd when it comes to TJ? Who gives us the best chance to win. I would say its Brees.
There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

Gotta give you Manning or Brady, although I think I would still opt for Brees over Brady.
Maybe not a few years ago, but now, yes, Brees over Brady. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

At RB - I'm keeping Peterson but I want Chris Johnson as the #2 guy
At WR - Oh hell, I want Moss back, and throw in Andre Johnson while we're at it...
At TE -
...oh wait...this is like playing Fantasy Football, and I don't waste my time with that crap either!!!!!
Let's inject some REALISM into this thread and start listing AVAILABLE QB's you'd prefer over Favre....
....ummmmm.....
....well...
.....hmmmm....
I guess we can skip this thread now.

I don't like to admit it, but let's be honest! Drew Brees is better than Brett Favre. I love Favre and I'm super happy that he decided to play another season.
Favre is great, but Brees is better.
In few words: Drew Brees doesn't have a stronger arm than Favre, but he's more accurate and reliable.
I think they both have very different leadership styles, one works with vets and the other with younger players. Favre brings a playfulness not a motivational aspect to his leadership. You won't see Favre leading a pregame chant like Brees and you probably won't see Brees doing "Pants on the Ground" either.
I think Brees' style works for a younger team, while Favre style makes players like Hutch, Phat Pat, KWill, Winfield, etc. laugh and start enjoying the game again. I can't see Phat Pat getting all psyched up with a Brees chant.
Both are in the right place at the right time to be the most successful.

Seriously, I know why I agree, what suprises me is that some of you don't agree with that statement.I'd feel so much better going into the season if Drew Brees was wearing purple.
Cons.....
Noodle has one more year.
Noodle has a ankle issue that ain't going away.
Noodle is an EXPUKER.....(Had to slip that one in there, sorry)
Pro's
Wait, I'm thinking......
Gimme a minute..........
He can read a defense.....Nope, so can Brees. Sorry
He has a quick release....Nope, so does Brees. Sorry
He spreads the ball around....Nope so does Brees. Sorry
For the life of me, I can't figure out one reason why I would want the Noodle (at this point in his career) over Brees.
Well.... there is one reason marr. without Brent, there is no one left in the organization who knows how to run the KAO version of the west coast offense.
I can't believe I'm defending Farve. I feel dirty. Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.
