Q: Are you going to be the one to fill the hole personality-wise?
A: Yeah, I'm going to bring that. Not only with my big play ability, I'm going to bring personality and style a little flair to the defense. I can say the Purple People Eaters are back.
This was said by Fred Smoot during mini-camp. I'm so glad that he thinks our defense is that good. That makes feel all tingly down there. LOL

Yeah. And that was just the first day too.
If the DL can put together that kind of performance week in and week out, we will definitely rise to the top...and with the DBs poised to shut down opposing receivers, the DL should have ample opportunities to sack the QB...especially Favre!!! GO D, GO O, GO VIKES!!!
Haha I saw the ESPN thing on Sportscenter at Minnesotas mini camp. Fred Smoot is a riot.
yah i saw that also.. it was way cool.. sharper said smoot is awesome so thats cool that they are getting along

Oh, I think he can live up to it, I want him to do great, and I hope he does.
Smoot, A-Dub, Chavous, Sharper, and the D-Line will all be great. The linebackers still worry me a little bit. We've definately made an upgrade, no doubt, but I still wonder if it's enough to be a Super Bowl caliber defense, let alone the return of the Purple People Eaters. However, I'm also hoping as hard as anyone else that everyone can meet up to Smoot's claims.
