Barring injury Jackson and Booty are locks, but I am not convinced that our 3rd QB, and probably the short/long term back-up since Booty is more of the long term project is not on another team right now. i dont buy it.
they signed gus to a 2 year deal.
he has plenty of starting experience, has proven to be a solid backup and is basically coming into be exactly a backup qb.
your scenario sounds more like if the vikes were looking for a starting qb to compete with tjack.
from all indications that doesn't appear to be the situation.
also, i dont know that any of those teams are looking to cut guys they probably feel they can get some value for.
edwards is a 2nd year guy, if they cut losman who's the backup and what's the salary cap hit?
clemens has not separated himself from pennignton and pennington probably has some value in a trade, along with maybe a big cap hit.
outside of those guys i dont know if you are gonna see anyone more attractive than gus, let alone bring a guy in half way through training camp to take his job.
i think the vikes have we they want at the qb position at least for this year
