The team has not ranked in the top 10 in interceptions since 2006 when Dwight Smith, Darren Sharper and Antoine Winfield led a genuine ball-hawking unit that finished fifth with 21.
It's about time they go back to allowing ball-hawkers to be ball-hawkers instead of handcuffing them and forcing them to play 'prevent' defense.

I am with you on that singer. It would be nice to see interceptions again.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

Getting rid of Winfield will be a great way to start. Having the sudden ability to have corners than can press at the line rather than giving a 10 yard cushion will make the QB's think more about their throws and lead to more mistakes for the secondary to capitalize on. I am as excited as I have been since the early 90's to see this secondary come together.

However, ball-hawking is a rick/reward endeavor. It's great when it works, not so great when it doesn't.

I hope this also translates into a more aggressive defensive approach, as I have never been a fan of the passive "bend-don't-break" style we've employed the past few seasons.

I can't wait to see our improved secondary play. I am tired of watching the us sit back and get picked apart. Let's a more attacking style D.
