Not because of our defense, but lets face it, our lack of running game and lack of big time receivers will cause numerous sakes and in the end, desperation passes that will lead to interceptions.

I predict that Big Johnson will change his uniform.......at least twice.

Defensive battle, Moss might sneak one by us, but Brunell is going to get roughed up.
Close game and I will be wired with stress in the 4th qtr; I'll need to watch the raider game to unwind and have a laugh.

Well the keys to this game are as follows:

Vikings on D
A) Vikings LB's are key to the success of the Viking D. If they play poorly it will be a long night. A secondary with talent like the Vikings can be exposed as average if the LB'rs are confused.
B) Vikings front four must not be overly aggressive. If they are, they will be looking at the Redskins RB's breaking into the secondary. The key for them is discipline and keeping to their assignment gaps.
C) They will blitz, maybe too much.
D) If Vikes get turnovers on D it could easily be instant points. Speed kills you know.

Vikings on O
A) Lets not kid ourselves here, as Brad goes so goe the Vikings. The TE's and releasing backs are key to moving the chains against the Redskins.
B) Running the ball could be difficult. The Vikings do not need a huge night from any one back. A solid 25-30 attempts for 85-110 combined yards will be enough to open the playbook for Brad. Look for a double TE, Thiesman/Riggins look out of the Vikings.
C) Snap counts are crucial for this line. Here again discipline is a must.

Finally as in most games the team that scores the most points wins.
In this game 19-14 the Vikes win late.

I'm going with Vikes Vikes win 16 to 13.
But.... I need the Vikes to lose and the Raidas to win in order to win the pickem' pool for work.
I accidently picked Washington!
This sucks, cuz now I can't root for my pickem pool.
Probably won't matter anyways, cuz I doubt the Raiders are going to win.

It'll come down to who has the most explosive plays and turnovers.
I like our ball control offense, but it will be hard to sustain drives against a formidable defense.
We need a long pass or two.
I'll look for us to try to take advantage of their injuries in the secondary, and get a long pass or two to Williamson, depending on if our OL can protect Johnson.
I like our defense against their inept offense.
If we can have short fields through turnovers or long returns we have a chance.

It's a tough place to play though, and there will be 90,000 rowdy fans.

Good read, but I didn't agree w/ this:

"Brad Johnson is a stationary target who will throw from right behind the center in the pocket.
I went back and looked at how Williams pressures similar quarterbacks, and Washington's two games against Drew Bledsoe and Dallas should be a similar plan. Williams' defense got to Bledsoe seven times in two games, and they did it with inside pressure."

This is true about Brad, but the problem is that he's forgetting that Dallas's O-line was/is highly suspect.

I like our chances here, but I think it's going to be ugly:

Will be a close game reguardless of who plays

If the mighty Wiggins is involved alot, I think the vikes will win by an even bigger score (as long as the deffense doesnt break)

Have no faith at all in running game (hope im proven wrong, but maybe the pass will set up the run).
