New cuts: Chase Ford, Lestar Jean, Vladimir Ducasse, Marcus Sherels, Kurt Coleman, Robert Blanton, Larry Dean

That is ALOT tougher than it looks. There are a few cuts that could easily make it (Mistral Raymond, Larry Dean, a couple of receivers, Zach Line, Chase Ford, Sherels, etc.)

    Predict the Vikings 2014 Roster

Nobody has Mike Zimmer on their list? If the coach is willing to hire his son, how can he pass up a guy from his same alma mater playing the same position and having the same name.

Lol ... I don't know ... but it looks like LB is pretty crowded right down to the special teamers (Watt or Dean) ... I don't like Zimmer's chances.

Is this what it feels like for 49er or Patriot fans (until recently)? Having so much depth that it is hard to figure out which of the players will WIN the spot, instead of getting it by default?

I'm really enjoying this position, to the point of not wanting the season to start in case we are living in a dream-land bubble.

I wouldn't go that far... We just have too much of the same caliber of player... Not crazy depth.

That is more or less the truth. But it is nice to have what appears to be a lot more talent than we have felt like we have seen around in a while. It is nice to see that Zimmer is bringing in a ton of young guys so he can make choices of who gives us the best squad.

I think that the defense will be ALOT of fun to watch from Day One under him. He is going to be able to mold a lot of it exactly how he wants it now with the draft picks and how free agency played out.

Yea, at this point, just another offseason with a large roster and a new coaching staff. Might as well be optimistic until proven otherwise.

The past coaching staff appeared to lack the ability to evaluate the talent they had, much less how to utilize that talent.
Zimmer comes in with a reputation for spotting talent and getting the most out of them.
    Another reason for optimism.
Odds are there will be some struggles with a new coaching staff and rookie QB, but there is also hope.
In a weak division, things can turn around fast.

Agree with all that and I am optimistic/hopeful, but I will temper expectations until I start seeing some of the new product in action.

I wouldn't say that. The Pukers are probably just behind Sea and SF in the NFC and IMO equal or a little better than NO. The Bores are just a few D players away from contending and the Lions have all kinds of offensive power. If they can fix their back end it could be a three way battle for the division. I would say other than the NFC West, which division do you find tougher?

There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!
