    Re:Pre-week 2 Thoughts

OL struggled, but I think the bigger issue is that our WRs were not able to do donkey poo all game long. 5 total catches by the WRs, 12 by non-WRs. They just weren't able to get any separation and that hurt us a ton.

That led to the check-down offense of 2006. A lot of dumpoffs but with no deep threat, it was swallowed up quickly. SF has a very good defense. San Fran also kept their first team in there much longer, and blitzed a lot for a preseason game.

I'm underwhelmed with Jon Cooper, Toby Gerhart, and our entire backup WR corps. Get Javon Walker in here. I'm sick of all these scrubs we have behind our top 3.

Is Shank injured or did Childress give him the game off. Dugan has got to make some of those tougher catches.

Our QB's were rattled, but when the did get rid of the ball, accurate passes were the norm. I'm not too worried outside of the fact that we saw little progress from TJ. At this point I think you still have to cut Webb.

On offense we seemed to lack speed. I'm willing to say that every veteran team in the preseason looks like that.

I thought our defense played pretty damn well. Nothing flashy, but we made it very tough for them to drive on us. Chris Cook played well, as did our RBs.

No turnovers in the entire game. Wow.

We MUST be fully healthy if we are going to win week 1. I think this game proved that.

    Re:Pre-week 2 Thoughts

Alot of Jackson negativity again today as I figured

I'll say he didn't make much happen himself, however Clark, Cook, DeGeare all did HORRIBLE.. I don't even remember who the other 2 playing in from of him were

Collinsworth pointed out 3 times.. (these are just the ones he pointed out) that the WRs got no seperation what so ever..

He stepped up a couple times.. Then took off

As for the rest.. Everyone basically touched on it all

I thought Jackson looked better than he has in the past. You could see him reading the field, checking his 1, 2, and 3 guy...then ducking and running for cover as the line let free. Still not great, but in my opinion he looked fairly comfortable. Unfortuantely for him being comfortable doesn't necessarily equate to making plays and driving your field down the team for a score...but it helps.

    Re:Pre-week 2 Thoughts

    Looking forward to Saturday

Here are a few observations and notes from tonight. I'm not going to go heavy on Favre because he's a big part of the daily coverage in the Monday paper.

Pretty much the same concerns I have..
