Tough to put a kicker on the PS, however I thought he looked as good or better than Longwell. Plus he has a lot more years left in him.

I think the Vikings will regret the release of Haushka.

Where did Nance end up. Did somebody claim him?
i was wondering the same thing
    Nothing on the wire yet.
Maybe we all had him overrated if he wasn't even good enough for the PS and he hasn't been picked up. I wasn't buying into him at first bet he really looked good at the end
And people are now starting to realize the truth.....

but seriously, i think the reason he didn't make PS, is because he's already been on the limit (i think its 2 or 3 years)
after that, a player can't stay on practice squad.
I thought I heard some type of rule like that anyway.
Yes that is the rule and he did reach the limit...

Steven Haushka also was claimed by Baltimore today.

That certainly clears things up, I thought for sure Haushka was a foot in the door.

Yea I thought he was at the limit as well.

I haven't searched yet, however, it appears that we didn't have any problem getting any of our PS guys through waivers.

As I've said repeatedly on here, I think alot of you guys are a bit gun shy with respect to your worries for players like JJ after the Thygpen issue.

Jaymar was a 6th round pick, I'm just glad we were unable to give him blocking to return his punts. If we had he would have made more plays then just a very solid average making something out of nothing. Of course any type of return blocking has been an issue as of late, especailly Punt Return Coverage. IMO opinion there is certainly a couple teams out there that could use Jaymar but there not seeing the talent coupled with the fact that he's already an underdog out of a small college.

I also think he's some what of a developmenalt player, IMO he's fairly polished in the passing game in terms of technique, a year with the team to learn the playbook, eat, and work-out will do wonders for his chances next season. I think he's the best pure Punt Returner on the team. Reynaud certainly showed some promise and looked more comfortable as the preseason grew on. If he can really devolop to his potential we might just have Furgeson's replacement.

All in all I wished we had gotten the Kicker added but we got a good headstart on camp competition next year.

I agree, I was impressed with him from the little bit I got to see him.
