PP.O Going Offline
Yes its true, after 8 years, PP.O is going offline.
I have no choice.
You all have made it happen, and there is no way around it.
Thank you!
In order to transfer the more than half million posts and thousands and thousand of members, I need to shutter the site for maintenance.
We are moving to a new host that has promised excellent service and reliability; at a cost lower than the more than $600 I shell out a month here even without plastering the place with ads.
I just hate em.
So my goal is something more affordable, with equal everyday reliablity we enjoy now.
But during the database transfer, the site slows to a drunken-packer like crawl, and I'd rather not having you wonder if I finally finished a liter of vodka in one sitting and fell down on the "slow" button on my keyboard.
Join me on this adventure, I waited many months to make the move to the deadest part of the offseason.
Maybe I
can finally deliver the additional features I keep talking about when I am not maintaining the server all by myself!
Thank you for your patience.
This will start at 10 pm tonight CST.
Any comments before the plunge, make 'em.
They likely won't make the transfer!
LOL.
Thanks again.

if it goes to shit, then one day because I quit and leave until another effort.
I have to remember to change kaka del toro to kaka del rio in memory.
Sorry for the delay prophet!
Then you cool folks can help us choose:
purple background with white reading area throughout the site (like the forums now but everywhere in the site) or keep the PURPLE BLOOD RUNNING STRONG!
Now, where's that delete button?

Re: PP.O Going Offline
Few questions
Is it still going to be purplepride.org?
How and when will we know to go to this new site (email or something)?
Will you still go by webby?
Why during the combine!?
I like the "purple background with white reading area throughout the site (like the forums now but everywhere in the site) ""Some Coaches pray for wisdom. I pray for 300 lbs. lineman. They give me plenty of wisdom"

Speaking of the site and costs to upkeep it, I forgot, I contributed $10 a while back (a month or two ago) and was just wondering if I get one of those cool supporter tabs?? :P
I suppose I need to PM you what my actual name to associate it with PurplePackerEater??
Sorry to spring it on you at a such a busy time, it's just that I forgot about it.
