Offense: What needs to be said? They rocked!! the pepp is off to a great start, Randy was blocking downfield, Smith ran well, Campbell is caught the long pass this time, Robinson looked good.
Defense: Our line didn't seem to get a lot of pressure, but I think Mixon's return will help. Also Dallas's front line is one of the best! I was very impressed with the LBs. They were quick and stopped the run well, with the excpetion of that push after the big kick return. The DBs Winfield, worth every penny, Williams, what a stud, Jones needs to be slapped in the face, Russel, chavous and offord played great, We need a nickel back!
Special Teams: didn't punt much, but when we did they seemed ok, Mort is a stud on FG and XP, sucks canal water on the kickoff, we need a KO specialist, hey that's the way it works.de43540278a8c8500baf55c07109eb7e

I thought our 2 punts by bennett weren't that good. They were like 30 yarders. I know he was pooch punting on one of them, but he only got it to the 18 or so, and that isn't good for a vet like him. He really hasn't impressed me at all so far. He punted crappy in the preseason as well. Hope he turns it around.

I thought Morten Andersen did pretty well on the kickoffs. He got it inside the 5 the first one, and inside the 10 on the others. The only short one I saw was because of the 15 yard excessive celebration penalty after Campebells TD. He also saved a TD on that long kick return by acting like a speed bump so Winfield could tackle him.
Still would like to see someone else handle kickoffs to save his leg for field goals. Extra points were perfect.
Offense was spectacular, enough said!
Defense needs work, but played a lot better in the second half.Skol!
Go Vikings!

Offense: They looked great. The Audibles at the line were impressive and productive it shows Pepper is gaining comfort and knowledge over his team. The WR's are an awesome core. Smith ran really good behind some crisp blocking and pulling lineman. When the blocking was broken he still managed to fall forward. No false starts, that i saw anyway. That is good. Few penalties even better. Seemed to let the work do the talking and managed the time they had well. One thing to note is Onterio weighs a bit more then the other backs and he is more of a power runner then Bennett. I'm not ready to place him above Bennett on the depth chart but dang he showed some heart lats night.
Defense: Seemed wound up and a little unaggressive. The blitzes were pointless and the coverage was soft. Obviously not the players fault. As people have mentioned they will get better. I think the problems came from the strategy side not the players. The linebackers are fast and hard hittin. Russell left something to be desired I think some one else said it looked like he was a step too late on all his hits and thing and I agree. Great contain by the line and a lot of batted down footballs.
Special: That run back that was stopped by Andersen slowing lee down was scary and something I have come to expect from the Vikes. We need to fix that fast. I was happy with the kickoffs none hit the endzone but some were withing the 5 yard line. Even his kick after the personal foul for celebrating was a good one considering where they had to kick from.

Morten had a couple of line drive kick that went deep but short on hang time and that casued a lot of our problems on kick-offs. Mike Tice said in his press conference today that he will have Travis Dorsch will be doing the kickoffs Monday night.
He also made a comment on Punter Bennet, that made me think that Dorch might be doing the punts too. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

OK, so it hasn't been just me who has thought bennett has been doing a bad job at punting so far.

How about us having Moss lined up on Roy Williams side every time, so the cowboys would always have to have roy back, to help over the top coverage on Moss. That really helped keep roy from being around the line of scrimmage, to stop our rushing attack and blitzing the QB. Parcells said he didn't want to switch the safeties around, so roy had to always stay back and help.

Hey, at least Bennet catches the Damn snap. As far as Defense goes, they played an excellent Offensive line and good depth at WR, without Irvin, and K. Williams for the first half. I am concerned about depth at Cornerback, but hopefully the D-Line will make it easier on R.Jones and other young guys who will have to play in Irvin's sted.
I may be an a$$, but at least I m a smart one
