    Possible safety battle?

While the odvious pick to start opposite Sharper is Tank, Big-Boy-Blue may put up quite a fight. Rumor has it he's a safety in a linebacker's body, and could have a field preasence that emulates Crazy-Haired Troy of the Steelers.

Another fun competition is going to be the nickel-back spot.

    Any thoughts?

Uummmmmmm... who is Big-Boy Blue? We signed Tank to be a starter and that is what he is gonna be. Thenickel back will probably be Davonte Edwards.

One question, where will Cedric Griffin fit into to our CB scheme?

Thank you Josdin for the sig

Big-Boy Blue is Greg Blue, the safety we got in the 5th round.
    WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

So we've got more talent than we know what to do with in safeties, but we're weak in LB?? someone dropped the ball. At least there's depth and a fresh pair of legs for near the end of the game.

While Blue might be a great late pick up in the draft. I don't think he'll play much this year.

Remember we also got Offord on the roster. He played well last year untill he got hurt.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

What about Dustin Fox? Is he off our roster now?

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

i think Cedric will compete for the nickle position! Devonte Edwards didn't play a lot last year, that i know of, i only remember his interception from Favre! Cedric is another hard hitting corner, so i think with Winfield and Griffin will being hard hitters and Smoot and Edwards being fast coverage guys, we got ourselves some good DBs!!!

Will he even make the team? Usually you only carry 4 safeties and we already have Fox, Offord, Tank, and Sharper...

    Re: Possible safety battle?

I'm Fairly confident that Tank Williams will start the season at Strong Safety, I don't know if he'll finish it that way though.

Willie Offord will definitely compete for time, but he has typically taken two years to learn a defense, so his oppertunity may have passed him by when he got injured last year.

I see our secondary on opening day being:

    FS - Sharper, Grifith
    SS - Williams, Offord
    1CB - Winfield
    2CB - Smoot
    3CB - Fox
    Dime - Grifith/Edwards
I'm sure Edwards will be on the team, but whether he is just a special teamer or not is up too how well Grifith can play the Corner Position.

    At Linebacker I see:
    WILL - Greenway, Dontarious Thomas
    Mike - Harris, DT/Henderson
    Sam - Henderson, Leber

    And on the line:
1DE - Udeze, Darion Scott, Ray Edwards
2DE - James, Darion Scott, Ray Edwards
    1DT - Williams
    2DT - Williams
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!
