I will agree with you on the whole GM discussion, however, I don't think our issue is that we can't find talent.

I posted up some stuff using this link as a source ...........

    http://drafthistory.com/teams/vikings.html

......which compared the Vikings success rate at drafting is way above other teams that people seem to think are very successfull.

Long story short, do we score with every pick? Nope, but we aren't as bad as alot on here seem to think.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Drafteck currently has us drafting third. Based on their team needs for all 32 teams, we would get the following players based on BPA, Team Need and Scheme match.

    Justin Blackmon, WR
    Johnathan Banks, CB
    Kevin Zeitler, OG
    Nate Potter, OT
    Kenny Tate, SS
    DaJohn Harris, DT
    Tramain Thomas, FS

I know there are alot of variables that the simulator doesn't take into account right now, but I could live with a draft that went something along those lines especially if you addressed LT in FA and still drafted for depth.

In order to get the better draft pick, Fraizer has to make sure to play Ponder. Webb could end up giving us a win.

WR is the sexy pick, but also a risky pick. I'd go for a near sure thing tackle.

The best scenario would be moving back 2 or 3 spots and picking up an extra pick.

One NFL guy on the radio made a pretty good point recently when asked if he would take a LT or a WR that high in the draft.

He stated on every play the best LT in the league can only account for and neutralize one defender. OTOH an elite WR can regularly account for 2 defenders and at times 3. So with that thought he felt a WR that could take the top off a defense had more value to an offense.

I have been thinking that more and more. I think giving Ponder a Blackmon, Harvin and Rudolph trio to work with would be awfully nice.

Does it make us contenders next season? No. Does it gives us a lot to look forward too in the future. Hell yes.

That would not be a terrible draft.
