    Pope cut along with 3 others

    The Vikings released veteran linebacker Derrick Pope today as they cut their roster to 75 players. Also released were offensive tackles Sean Dumford and Brock Pasteur and receiver Daniel Davis. The moves were announced on the Vikings website.

    Pope is surprising, obviously, the other three not surprising at all.
    I would say the Pope move pretty much cements Erin Henderson's spot on the roster.
    The backup LBs likely will be Henderson, Ciurciu, and Alexander.
    Herron and Lehmann possible practice squad players?
    I think that's all of the LBs on the roster at the moment.

    Very excited that Erin is going to be on the roster.
    I hope Lemann makes it too but I don't see it happening.
    Hopefully he ends up on the practice squad and makes the team next year.

    Wow wow wow.

    This was a win-win for the Vikes. Hard to mess up the LBs when you have Farwell, Ciuriu, Pope, Alexander, and Henderson going into camp.

    Still a tough cut though. All 4 guys clearly deserve to be on an NFL roster. Plus it was hard losing Farwell. Ugh, so many good LBs on this team.
