    That's good news!

I can rest assured now that the next time the 2nd & 3rd string teams take the field in a regular season game, they'll be improved................ Oh wait!

Hopefully our young players learn from their playing time when they win too & not just from when they lose.

Geez, Ponder. Couldn't you have learned from a victory instead?

"It was an unfortunate two plays, a completion and an interception. We will learn from it and look forward to Buffalo. We knew it was going to be one drive but we would have liked it to be a touchdown and a long drive, but it is what it is."

So, you had two plays to learn from....one was a completion, one an INT. Maybe you learned NOT to throw to the guys wearing the different jerseys?!?!?!?!?

Or, how about, "Score more than the other guys".

How about, "Completions are better than incompletions"

"First Downs are better than Punts".

"Letting the other team score, sucks"

Oh, I could keep going all day long.....

This is a quote that disappoints me.

From The Locker Room: Ponder, Patterson and Others React To Friday's Loss
Q: When you are told that you will get to play one series, do you ever ask for two?
A: No, not really. You understand the whole reason behind it. Number one, you donít want to get hurt, especially in the first preseason game. There are guys trying to make roster spots and need playing time as well. There is plenty of playing time in the next couple games.
In a QB I want to see a guy who wants and fights to be in there every single play and not one who is OK with giving up time to other QB's

Did anybody actually watch the interception?

Rather than say, "No I don't want to be in there and risk getting hurt (let the other guys get hurt)", I'd like him to say "Hell yes, I want to be in there. I'm not 100% ready yet & could really use all the preseason time I can get to get better so I don't make a lot of mistakes once the regular season starts."

    Sounds like he's gun shy.

Yeah, it certainly doesn't sound like a take charge leader. "It is what it is," is also very troubling to me...

It's preseason, guys. Outside of guys hoping to make the team, I doubt anybody feels that the risk of injury is worth it.

I wouldn't read too into the good performances, nor into a few comments about one series in a preseason game.

The third game, iirc, is when we can see a bit of a dress rehearsal.

I'm not saying that he's a good quarterback, I'm just saying that we're reading too deeply into a preseason game.

When Peyton was with the Colts, they lost every preseason game, every year. Wasn't necessarily indicative of regular season success, was it?
