    He was better than Cassel
He was??!! You might want to check the math. Also Cassel played with a shittier OL. Those are the facts.

When has Ponder ever done this?
    15 games 10-5-0 w/l
    262 comps 450attps
    3116 yards 27 tds 7ints

Last season he was 10-6 with a higher completion percentage, about the same number of yards, and a higher QBR. Ponder wasn't obviously better or anything, they were just about the same. However, Ponder was better last year than Cassel has been in his career and on average and clearly better compared to Cassel's recent history. Ponder was obviously better in college so I'm not sure why you brought that up. Ponder has also been better in the offseason against better competition.

We know what Cassel can do. He's 31 years old and not getting any better. Ponder at least has the potential to improve and if he doesn't, he'll be gone, but we sure as heck better have someone better than Cassel to take his place.

Whether or not Ponder is the answer has effect on the reality that Cassel is bad and has no business being a starting NFL qb. The only competition should be between Cassel and MBT for the backup job.

What?! How the hell are you measuring offseason? Did Ponder do more push-ups and sit-ups? Lol seriously. What the hell are you talking about?
