    Player Analysis Offense

Ok i'm bored and have alot of time on my hands.. Wanted to make a player analysis.. Just a short note for each basically.. Feel free to add players I forgot.. Just going off top of my head.. Feel free to add any input and prove me wrong haha.. And DONTTTTT turn this isnt a Brett Vs TJ thread please.. Also if there is already something like this I apologize just lock her up.. I haven't been on much and havent seen much

Brett- Could tell he was hurt.. he's a warrior.. Gonna miss the guy

T JOKE- Enough said.. Im rollin with the nickname now.. Ha

Webb- Looked good as a rook.. Basically what was expected from him as a 3rd string D2 6th round project.. Love the upside

    .

Adrian- Keeps improving as an all around back.. Im waiting to see when we scrap the ZB scheme to see what he really can do

Toby- Was never really high on the pick.. But he did alright IMO.. Of course alot of room for improvement

Lorenzo- Was impressed with him.. He looks like a very nice scat back and very good returner.. He has the ability to take it all the way

Tahi- improved IMO.. Wasn't yellin at my tv quite as much.. Looked better as an option in the passing game if needed as a check down

    .

Shank- Wasn't impressed.. Had real high hopes.. Had alot of penelties.. Wasn't nearly as effective as I thought he would be

    Klein- Same old Jimmy.

    .

Percy- Love the kid.. Didn't think he would be effective in the passing game for a few years coming out.. He has more then surpassed what I expected

Sidney- When he's healthy he's a stud.. Just wish he could have played.. I think it would have made the WHOLE offense look ALOT better

Berrian- Please just cut our losses.. I can't stand him

Greg- Another Eagle cast off.. He isn't horrible but doesn't add much to the team

Cam- Was expecting alot outta him.. Im not sure if it was the lack of chances or skill as to why he didn't really do much.. As a punt returner he was alright.. Always fighting for that extra yard

    Baskett- Has always sucked..

Moss- Wish we had kept him.. Woulda been nice to have him or Sid take that double team and allow Percy to continue to kill it in the slot

    .

Big Mac- Besides sucking against speed rushers I think he did solid.. Im not in the boat to cut or trade him.. Hard to find a nice LT

Hutch- Seemed to be banged up.. Looked lethargic at times.. Hope he can rebound

Sully- Average center that struggles against big tackles due to his size.. Missin Birk

Herrera- Been banged up.. I miss his flat out pancaking people.. Hope he can rebound as well

Loady- Was EXCITED to have this kid.. He regressed far too much this year.. Idk what the deal was but he needs alot of work

Degeare- Love the young guy.. He drives people back and gets to the next level.. Alot of times looked like our best lineman IMO

Cook- Decent back up.. Love the versatility.. But strictly back up

    Cooper- Blows

If I forgot anyone feel free to add.. Going to do D and STs next.. Add more input.. Basically here to add some conversation.. Or a "discussion" with Marty!

I agree with just about all of your analyses. Of course, my biggest concern is QB, because we are not going anywhere without a good one. Webb, although I like his upside, is certainly nowhere near ready.

I'm thinking the guys will respond much more favorably to Frazier as HC. From what I've read so far, some of the key players seem to be on board with OTC's and offseason preparedness. I like that a lot.

Agreed.. I don't want to walk into a season with a young project just yet.. Especially with a new system coming

    Thanks for the input!

    Re: Player Analysis Offense

Like everything so far except about the OL. I'm in the party that thinks it's just god-awful.

They would all make decent players... in the CFL.

    However, I would say:

McKinnie: I don't think he deserves all the bad rep he gets. He's still an above average LT. Yes, overrated, but for htose who want to cut/trade him, who do you plan on replacing him with? He was our best OLman last season.

Hutch: He was hurt, and didn't seem to be playing very well. Hopefully that gets fixed, but he is getting old. We need to start thinking about a replacement.

sullivan: Below Average center. He's not a big guy, and gets mauled by bigger DT's. Probably why we seem to struggle against 3-4 teams. He can't manage a NT.

Loadholt: I thought he showed promise last year, and this year he looked like a freshman at college. IMO, he was by far our weakest starting lineman.

Herrerra: Didn't play as well as he has, but he's been banged up for the past two years. Hopefully he comes back healthy and plays with that mean streak we saw before he got hurt

Cooper: Agree with you here. Dude's trash.

Degeare. Saw some good things, saw more bad things. However, filling in for Hutch and grading him isn't really fair, as you're going from an all-pro player to a guy who barely made the squad.

Cook: A guy who played decently as a backup. Versatile, and I'm glad we kept him. Shouldn't be a starter, but great to fill in.

We seriously need to address the OL this offseason. Maybe draft a C or G in the mid-rounds and hope he pans out. There will probably be a couple decent FA's available as well, there always are

Berrian had zero touchdowns and two fumbles on 28 receptions in 14 games played.

He has always had questionable hands, but his speed before his injuries made him an asset. This season, he ran himself out of plays more often than he caught the ball, and he couldn't get deep on weak defenders assigned to him.

When I watched how many NFL receivers bump and push for position, and then watched Berrian hide behind a zone defender instead of finding space during plays, I had to question his desire to catch the ball and take a hit. He acted like coming back to the ball on a hitch would be too difficult for him.

You betcha; he needs to go.

    Re: Player Analysis Offense

Pretty good take there bud. As always though, you know I am going to straighten at least one thing out.

Webb is not a D2 project. Not even I-AA (FCS as it is now called) like T-Jack. Joe is from a Division I school (UAB is in Conference USA)

As for the rest of it, I am not going to bag on ain't receivers or TEs. With the way the line played and the clear ineptitude of the offense from the get go,
I think these guys numbers were affected the most.

That makes Percy's season all the more impressive to me. He would have put up 1,000 yards if not for injuries, and that is very good with the bad QB play and o-line ay around these parts this season.

    Re: Player Analysis Offense

I'll keep it short and sweet for the guys who played well
    Peterson=stud
    Harvin=stud

    That was easy.

Shaincoe-Terrible in line blocker. I don't think he really fits with what we are going to want to do offensively (pound it). He is good in the passing game but I think we could use a good in line guy who can block and catch passes (the passing threat part kind of eliminates Kleinsasser)

McKinnie-he is just flat out not very good. Had to watch qbs get laid out to try too often for a LT. And he sucks at drive blocking too. Seen him get blown up in goal line situations way too much. We need to get a OT in the first 3 rounds to take his or Loadasses's spot.

Loadholt-I call him Loadass because he looks so freaking slow out there. He is really bad at this point, hopefully he gets better.

Hutchinson- is really on the down side of his career.

Sullivan-gets pushed back way too much. Needs to start roiding to be effective

Degreare- I think he will be a really good player. Kind of raw but looked good for a rookie 5th rounder.

Herrera-I hope he can play center next year because he could hold up a lot better against Suh and Raji than Sullivan.

Webb- only QB on the roster. Looked calm and athletic with a cannon. Footwork is bad though and he has a long ways to go. Could use a vet here like Hasselback but he'd get killed behind our o line.\
