I am impressed that they were able to shave so much off the price by using some of the existing infrastructure.Zeus wrote:

I am impressed that they were able to shave so much off the price by using some of the existing infrastructure.
Concrete Construction, espeicaly heavy construction, is very very expensive these days.
Cement, sand, stone, and steel reinforcement products used in the construction, have almost double in cost during recent years.
By them re-using some of the existing foundations of the Met.,
I can easily see them shaving off $100 Mil or maybe even more......
Lets just hope they get er done........ ;D

I couldn't find the exact article, but the price of steel is expected to go up.
They price this stuff on future contracts.
There have been recent increases on steel that will be delivered in the future.
Here are some articles that may interest a few out there.

Posco Sees Price Hikes, Strong Steel Demand
Steel producers need Met Coal and Iron Ore to make steel. In April, Posco increased steel product prices by KRW120,000 per metric ton - or 21% to KRW700,000 ($700) for hot-rolled coil and 18% to KRW785,000 for cold-rolled coil and shipbuilding plates - to pass on soaring iron ore and coal prices to customers.
These prices have all gone up, therefore steel goes up.

great idea..as long as wilf can contribute some more of his own cash, the state should finally approve this thing

If this plan goes through the Vikings will have to use the new Gopher's stadium for at least two years. They will play at the Metrodump until the lease runs out and then start demolition right after the season ends and it will take them at least two years to complete.
