Adrian Peterson expressed optimism last month when asked about the potential of being used more frequently this season in formations that include running back Chester Taylor. The two did not get on the field at the same time very frequently in 2007 but could be an interesting 1-2 combination.

I'll say this, if I was a linebacker looking into that backfield, my head would be spinning with questions to myself....

It would sure take the predictability out of the plays that we saw last year when only one was in there without the other.

We used to run a split backfield sometimes in high school...it was pretty effective for many plays, including ones used on passing downs.

It would be interesting to see, but I don't know really. It has not been an effective tool for many teams over the years.
It sacrifices other needs I think, which is why it is not used often, but I would love to see us be able to use it effectively.

I am not sold on how it will work. Peterson seems like a more effective runner when he lines up deep and has a full head of steam when he hits the hole behind a fullback. Taylor, on the other hand is shifty enough where I could see it benefiting him. It will be interesting to see.

I don't know why this formation wasn't use dlate in games last year.
Running a swing past to Ad ( with CT blocking) would be more likely to take it all the way than
Wade, Rice, Shank or Williamson. Instead we sat the best home run threat on the sideline....
At the very least him being on the field would have made it easiser for the other playmakers to get open. These were some of the mind numbing non-adjustments that the Offensive staff made last year.
