Peterson needs to learn how to hold onto the damn ball!!

Don't get me wrong. I think AP is the best player in the NFL and I thank the football Gods every day that he is in a Vikings uniform, but the man needs to learn how to hold onto the pigskin. 3 fumbles today which could have cost us dearly. I know he runs hard and with reckless abandon at times and he is so damn exciting to watch but someone needs to show him how to protect and cary the ball. I would hate to see all of his great accomplishments and reputation be smeared by the fact that he can't hold onto the damn ball!!
Saying that I still think he is the best RB in the NFL hands down!!! Go Vikes!!!!!!

Tiki Barber had a problem with fumbles too, but he got it fixed.
Perhaps Peterson could take a couple of pointers.

I don't think he is number 1 just yet

He has fumble issues.. Is a liability in blocking and route running and pass catching

As a pure runner he is a great.. Not quite number 1 player in the NFL yet

But yes please work on holding onto the ball

You mean against the Lions he needs to hold on to the ball. Other than that only 2 fumbles all year.

Actually he has 4 fumbles this year of which 3 were lost, including today's game that makes 7 on the year. Actually not a very high number but still way too many.

It's a catch 22 i think. We love that he fights hard and refuses t go down. However, that causes him to expose the ball more than most Rbs, which increases his chances of fumbling. Do you want him to cover up and negate the extra 4 yards he sometimes churns out, or keep fighting like he does?
