Peterson in line to fill a major void with Torii Hunter gone

Jim Souhan: Peterson in line to fill a major void

With Torii Hunter gone, there is a star vacuum in the Twin Cities. The rookie could help alleviate that, on and off the field.

Torii Hunter took the biggest personality in Minnesota sports with him to Los Angeles. Kevin Garnett and Randy Moss hauled duffel bags of fame to Boston. Johan Santana is packing his designer bags, presumably for New York.....

Peterson, though, could be that rare combination of national star and local hero, and we could use one of those.
Word. lol

I have no need to read that article. What utter dreck. Totally useless.

There is no job of "Major Twin Cities sports personality." That is not AD's job. His job is to play football. If the Twin Cities vulture media wants a quote machine, they can call Charles Barkley.

Leave AD alone. Let him do his job.

To the Twin Cities media: yes, the Vikings are more difficult to cover with less press access. Coach Childress is right in his policy, because in the past YOU have abused your privileges and inside information in screwing up your reports on the Vikings. How do you like it now?

They're not talking about making him a quote machine or anything like that... they're saying Minnesota lacks a "Superstar" in any aspect in sports right now.
And AD could easily be that man.
He's quickly becoming it.

AD & Rice will be big contributors in helping us convince the state to give us a stadium, not with their words, but with their actions.

I guess it concerns me that the vultures will try to make our stars like AD into quote machines so the vultures can claim a nicer paycheck while in the end screwing the Vikes out of whatever goodwill they've got.

OTOH, if I was Zygi Wilf, I guess I'd see the need to play ball with the media, partly on the stadium issue. That said, I would be very relunctant to extend trust to the feckless Twin Cities sports media.
